[After having been dumped in Jade's workshop, and getting directions from the colonel himself, the occupants of house 1 might notice a stranger in New Feather clothes passing through. If no one notices or bothers to stop her, she will just walk out the front door in hopes of keeping as much of her dignity intact as possible.

After that B'Elanna goes to the clothing shop, finds her uniform, changes, then seats herself on a bench outside to look over her journal. Which she soon discovers is a communication device.]

I'm looking for tools. Where can I find some?

[Her stomach also decides to take this moment to speak.]

And I hope there's something decent to eat around here.

Oh, that's easy then! If you're facing the clothing store, Slash 'n Crash is to the left. The item shop is...

[There's a bit of humming as Rue tries to picture the location.]

Um... if you walk west toward the river, you'll see a bridge. The item shop is the building on the left of the path. It's shaped like an L.

I just arrived, actually. Have you been here long?

Just over two months now. It's not as long as some people.

[There is another pause as that's not something she really wanted to hear.]

How long have they been here?

Most of the people I know have been here for a few months, but some people have been here for years.

[Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. There's a pause as Rue tries to think of what to say next.]

Has anyone told you about the guide?

[Voice]

[This leaves her speechless until the question is asked.]

It's.... Hold on.... [there's a bit of page flipping and humming as Rue looks for the guide.] Okay! here! Raine wrote it, she's the teacher at the school and has been here for a long time. She's really nice. It's pretty long, but it has all the information you need.

[She takes a moment to have a look. Rue wasn't kidding when she said it was long.]

Looks like I have a reading assignment.
