3rd Diagnostic - [Voice/Action]

 [Voice - Filtered to Medics]

I need help. A friend of mine came to Luceti with an alien implant in his head and its making him agitated and more aggressive than he normally is. He's lashed out violently several times. It has to be removed somehow.

Not only that, but its programmed so that it will detonate if removed.

I can handle the mechanics, and disarm it, but I'm no doctor. I need someone to help me get out. Someone with experience in brain surgery preferably.

If there's anyone out there that is willing and experienced enough to handle this, please help him. He's my friend and I can't stand to see him go on like this.

[Action]

[A little later B'Elanna goes to Harry's room and knocks on the door. When it all comes down to it, she needs to actually convince him to get the help he needs.]

Harry? We need to talk.

[Harry's been pretty good at just shutting himself up in his room and not actually talking to people. Because people. They don't mix with the clamp. He's pacing in the room when the knock comes and, so, opens the door quickly enough.

He's restless right now and he manages a quick little smile for B'Elanna. He doesn't have to ask what they have to talk about. There's only one thing to talk about.]

Hey. [He steps aside, gives her room to enter, and deliberately leaves the door open because one of them might need a quick escape (and it'll probably be him and he hates thinking that way.)]

[He stops pacing, suddenly both hopeful and paranoid and really, really wanting to trust her words. Harry knows good and well that, before the clamp, he would have put himself in her hands and be done with it.

But paranoia is all-consuming, an itch inside his mind that drives him halfway to crazy.]

How?

[Her skills, he has absolute faith in. Usually. There's still a current of apprehension when he even thinks of her touching the damn thing.]

Do you know this guy?

How so? What did he say to convince you?

... I'm Trafalgar Law, head doctor of the Battle Dome clinic in Luceti. I'm able to do the surgery, but you're going to have to tell me more about this implant for me to better help. Why was it placed in his head to begin with?

[Since it'll detonate if it's removed, he'll assume it's not there to help.]

[Punishment/tracking device then, most likely.]

... I see...

[Going in blind? Not good. The whole thing isn't making him feel good. And the fact she had to knock him out...]

He does want it out, though, right? Before I do anything, I'm going to have to speak to and examine him. The more cooperative he is, the easier and safer this is going to go.

[And if he doesn't honestly want it? It's a no go unless this explosive is going to take out others with him.]

The device is stable in the meantime, right? No risk to him other than the behavioural changes already seen?

[While a competent surgeon now on her own... brain surgery?]

If you're going to perform that kind of surgery, than Trafalgar is the best person you can ask. But are you sure that cutting it out is the only way to deal with it? Has he been examined by a doctor yet?
